How to be IHS

"I go through life as a transient on his way to eternity, made in the image of God but with that image debased, needing to be taught how to meditate, to worship, to think." - Donald Coggan, Archbishop of Canterbury

The Active Disicpleship Program is the formal training sequence each new student must navigate before officially joining the ranks of the IHS alumni.  The ADP student strives to integrate the Christian worldview into everyday life in a way that attracts others to the peace, hope, and joy of life through Christ.  Their training anchors them to the depths of faith and a community that will sustain them through the toughest times.  Beyond individual discipleship, it allows them to illuminate and improve the culture around them.

Students navigate the ADP under the guidance of program alumni.  Each mentor takes on only one new student at a time.  These mentors teach and train, but they also provide a living example of the peace and power found in the Christian faith.  In level one, students learn the basic Christian doctrines.  In level two, students learn to integrate apologetics and current events into their training.  In level three, ADP students begin to acquire practical skills for use in reaching out to the culture.  Finally, in level four, students immerse themselves in a more individualized and rigorous level of training, reaching a spiritual maturity that will guide and anchor them for a life lived in His service- in the real world.
