What’s next?

In case you missed it, the heaviest hitters of the Western faiths have signed the Manhattan Declaration, a manifesto of sorts planting a stake in the ground on all the major culture war issues. If you have not read it, check it out, and then sign up. I have a sense that this is a very big deal. Unlike some recent endeavors by Jewish, Protestant, and Catholic groups, the Manhattan Declaration is marked by credibility, clarity, relevance, and unprecedented unity.
On many fronts, the conservative and morally savvy impulses of our citizens are being rekindled. The Obama administration continues to be a stunning example of what not to do, encouraging the opposition to boldly re-engage a discussion about what to do. Fox news leads all other cable news outlets, Sarah Palin’s book is on the march, “Ida” has been debunked as the latest “proof” of evolution, and public opinion on abortion shows a pro-life trend emerging. One GLBT website suggests that the Right is back in the culture war. Good times.
In spite of all the troubles we've seen, are things turning around? The answer is yes, but there is much more to consider. Christians around the world are going to need this momentary breath of fresh air. We will need it to steel ourselves for the battle ahead, for it will be the most formidable to date. The next onslaught will come as the much anticipated global government emerges from the prophetic ether and becomes very tangible . It got real yesterday, this time the revolution was televised.
Of course, their end game will take some time. In the beginning, the first casualties will be SUV’s, light bulbs, and bio-fuels. However, it won’t be long until small arms proliferation, private property, and media control become issues of urgent interest to the new global managers. Ultimately, this will lead to total control over all things ideological; education, religious teaching, political affiliation, the press, etc… Obama already showed us how this all works in a laboratory version of the take over. In order to facilitate this, the global cabal will utilize trumped up resource shortages, flu attacks of increasing magnitude, and all kinds of provocative, false flag operations.
So, let’s enjoy the upcoming resurgence of Western thought, courage, and clarity. But, let us not think that we are witnessing the end of American liberalism but rather the beginning of a global government. We will soon see some battlefield victories that deserve to be relished. Unfortunately, it is not just a time to celebrate, but a time to remember what defines us as Christians and to rejuvenate our ranks, for soon we go to battle once and for all. As Gandalf said of the quiet moment before battle, “it is the deep breath before the plunge.”
